Robert Jospe, Kevin Davis and The World Beat Workshop

During the months of January, February, and March, percussionist and educator Robert Jospe and world percussionist Kevin Davis brought their World Beat Workshop to all five Harrisonburg City elementary schools and Skyline Middle School.  These whole school experiences provided students with a look at how the 3/2 clave rhythm traveled from Africa to the Caribbean and eventually into New Orleans and became the backbone of American Rock and Roll Music.  3000+ students were able to engage in these experiences thanks to Any Given Child Harrisonburg and a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts!
