2022 Teaching Artist Academy

The 2022 Teaching Artist Academy is designed to bring local community artists together to brainstorm and develop educational programming for implementation with our school partners.  The 2022 Academy Cohort will meet in three sessions designed to take ideas from concept to implementation with the goal of deeper implementation with students as part of Any Given Child's 2022-2023 Live Arts Experience Season.   

Session One: 

• Cohort/Leadership Team Introduction
• Introduction to AGC Live Arts Experiences
• Introduction to our Schools/Students
• Introduction to the VA Standards of Learning
• Challenge to create an educational program for revision and review

Session Two: 

• Coaching/Sharing of artist program proposals
• Specific growth assessment recommendations

Session Three: 

• Final Presentation of program proposals
• Videotaped for self evaluation/leadership team evaluation​
• Leadership team evaluation of program presentations

Academy Faculty:
The Academy Faculty will include teachers, principals, artists, and coaches from Harrisonburg and Rockingham Schools.  Their collective experience will help teaching artists build stronger capacity to come and work with our students.  

Cohort Participants Receive: 

• $500 Stipend
• AGCSV Certificate of Completion
• Potential Listing on our AGCSV Teaching Artist Roster
• Additional opportunities to connect with AGCSV Partners
