Any Given Child Shenandoah Valley and Harrisonburg City Public Schools is proud to partner with Drama for Schools to present a 4 day intensive for K-8 classroom teachers to learn more about Arts Integration Strategies.

The Arts Integration Institute will occur at Stone Spring Elementary School in Harrisonburg, Virginia from June 21-24, 2022.  The institute runs each day from 8:30am-4pm with shorter engaged learning modules and an hour lunch break from our favorite local vendors that is included in your registration!

The institute will provide tools for educators to:
  • active academic, artistic and affective learning with students;
  • deepen student investment and connection with curriculum;
  • build a collaborative classroom community; and
  • develop expert learners.

Through a hands on exploration of drama based pedagogical strategies, partcipants will develop skills and lessons, which they can use in their own classroom to facilitate creative learning.

Why Are the Arts Important?

“The arts are an essential element of education, just like reading, writing, and arithmetic…music, dance, painting, and theater are all keys that unlock profound human understanding and accomplishment.”
   –William Bennett, Former US Secretary of Education
