Event Manager Job Description/Application

Any Given Child Shenandoah Valley Events Manager
Reports to Executive Director
Collaborates closely with Advocacy and Outreach Manager (AOM)
Classification: Part-time, hourly employee
Hourly Rate: $18–$22/hour, commensurate with experience
Hours: Up to 400 hours annually, as needed

Position Summary:
The Events Manager serves as a key project manager supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of Any Given Child Shenandoah Valley’s (AGCSV) core events. Working closely with the Executive Director and Advocacy and Outreach Manager, the Events Manager ensures high-quality, smoothly run events that advance AGCSV’s mission to provide equitable access to arts education and experiences for all students.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support Live Arts Experiences (Approx. 90 Hours)
  • Attend Live Arts Experiences to provide onsite coordination and logistical support.
  • Support  transportation and student operations to ensure efficient, safe participation in events.
  • Assist in communication with schools and partners as needed for event success.

Support Fundraising Events (Approx. 200 Hours)
  • Assist in the planning and execution of major fundraising events, including but not limited to: Rocktown Silent Disco, Great Community Give, Adult Prom, and Lip Sync Battle Events..
  • Support event logistics, timelines, and vendor relationships.
  • Support volunteer and staff coordination during events.
  • Assist with setup, breakdown, and onsite problem-solving during events.

Support Outreach/Engagement Events (Approx. 25 Hours)
  • Assist in planning and implementing AGCSV outreach and community engagement activities.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for public events designed to increase community awareness and engagement.

Qualifications
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Any Given Child Shenandoah Valley.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to lift items 30-40 pounds. 
  • Previous experience with event coordination preferred.

​Work Environment:
This position requires the ability to attend events at various locations throughout the Shenandoah Valley. The role involves a combination of remote work, meetings, and onsite event work.  Live Arts Experiences happen during the hours of traditional public school days.  Other events can take place on nights and weekends. 

Compensation: Hourly wage of $18–$22 per hour, commensurate with experience.
